The Commit-tee on Public Information welcomed peonle's such cooperation, for the CPI regarded the cooperation as a display of people's democratic action, and thus the CPI would be proved to be an democratic institution if it broadly accepted people's suggestions. However, such way the CPI adopted invited demoralization and simplification of Americanization movements, which had had a rich variety of prescriptions and goals.
