Traditionally, when performing a role-play or skit, students have stood in the front of the classroom. This puts the students under significant pressure and the resulting performances often lack fluidity and enthusiasm. In this essay, the author explores the potential merits of having the students perform in the hallways outside the classroom. He discusses the advantages (and disadvantages) of doing so. He also elicits information from students concerning their impressions of the performances in the different locations.
