Economics"}]}]},"item_4_description_4":{"attribute_name":"抄録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"スコットランド王国とイングランド王国の同君連合王国が成立し，前者の国王ジェイムズ6世がイングランド王ジェイムズ１世として戴冠することにカトリック教徒は反発した。本稿では，彼の統治政策に対するカトリック教徒の陰謀計画を概観する。彼は，エリザベス1世（Elizabeth I）（在位1558年-1603年）の宗教政策を継承し，国家（国王）に対する教会の従属の立場を堅持しつつ，カトリック教会の組織形態を温存する政策をとった。1559年にエリザベス1世のもとでイングランド王国においてカトリック教が禁止され，イングランド国教を忌避するカトリック教徒には罰金刑や死に至る反逆罪が科された。カトリック教徒は，ヨーロッパ大陸に逃亡し，スペイン王国やフランス王国の神学校でカトリック教の教育を受けた。カトリック教徒の勢力が，分裂し，新しい宗教勢力に押しつぶされようとしていたときに，エリザベス１世が1603年3月に崩御した。ジェイムズ6世がイングランド王ジェイムズ1世としての戴冠式を挙行する1603年7月までの間に，カトリック教徒によってメイン陰謀（Main Plot）（1603年7月）とバイ陰謀（Bye Plot）（1603年6月）が計画された。これも国教会の礼拝に参加しないカトリック教徒に課されていた重い罰金刑に対する不満から生じ，カトリック教徒による国教忌避者に対し課される罰金刑の緩和・廃止を求め，国王ジェイムズ1世をアラベール・ステュワートと据え替えることが計画された。しかし，カトリック聖職者の密告によってその計画の実行は阻止された。イエズス会の聖職者が，治安と制裁の恐怖のために，当局に密告したと思われる。ジェイムズ国王は，彼自身がカトリックに改宗したという噂をかき消すために，カトリック教徒に対する罰金刑の適用を強化した。これに対しカトリック教徒の中には，1605年11月の議会招集に合わせて，ウェストミンスターの議事堂を爆破し，国王を議員共々爆死させることを計画する者がいた。その政治的目的は，イングランドにカトリック国王による支配を再現することであった。実際，ジェイムズ国王に替わってその娘のエリザベス王女（Elizabeth
